Meet The Founder
Robert Sieland
As a former legal executive, Rob has worked with legal counsel around the world. Some were exceptional. Most unfortunately delivered undifferentiated and, often, incomplete work for a premium fee. To meet clients' needs, Rob envisioned and created a different kind of firm. With in-house counsel in its DNA, grounded in respect, understanding and empathy for its clients, Lighthouse Legal Counsel’s mission is to partner with clients for their full journey and deliver practical and expert legal service at a fraction of cost and organizational toll exacted by traditional law firms.
Rob began his career at McDermott, Will & Emery and Schiff Hardin (now Arent Fox Schiff), and then served in-house as the principal corporate and securities counsel at Adtalem Global Education, R. R. Donnelley & Sons Company, and Hub Group, where he worked across functions and levels to drive projects from start to finish – the full journey. Over the course of his career, Rob has handled just about every legal matter a business can face. Among them, acquisitions and dispositions of businesses, bet-the-company and routine transactions and litigation, debt and equity financings, activist investors, changing boards and CEOs, international expansion and retraction, balance sheet restructuring, and the most sensitive of regulatory environments. As Lighthouse Legal Counsel’s founder and CEO, Rob leverages his experience leading teams and transactions, using in-house and outside resources, to deliver results that are grounded in Lighthouse Legal's Mission, Vision and Values .
When he’s not obsessing about his clients, he
spends his time with his wife and three kids in Evanston, Illinois and anywhere else their life’s journeys takes them.
